ISO/IEC e-Textbook standard

Call for contributions

ISO/IEC JTC1/SC36* is working on a new international standard for e-Textbooks (AWI 18120).

The new standard will build on existing e-Book standards, adding any new features that are specifically required for use in learning, education and training.

The project team is currently calling for contributions from all interested parties, in order to ensure that the project meets the needs of stakeholders.

ISO/IEC JTC1/SC36 is consulting closely with CEN WS/LT in order to identify common requirements for a global e-Textbook standard. CEN WS/LT, the Learning Technologies Workshop of the European Committee for Standardisation, is running a scoping project named “eTernity”.
